Meet Ciara - a 10 year old from Maryland.
For the past few months, Ciara has been making and selling beaded keychains to support charitable causes. She began making keychains after her Great-Grandmother was diagnosed with Leukemia. Along with her mom she researched the disease, and was upset to find out how many kids suffer from Leukemia as well. Everyday she wondered what she could do to help, and while playing with some shrinky dinks Ciara came up with the idea to make keychains. She contacted the Leukemia society and they are happy to stand behind her.
Ciara sells her keychains for $2/ea, and 90% of each sale goes to whichever cancer organization that particular key chain stands for.
Ciara will sell her keychains at Relay for Life and is proud to be the only child on her Relay team. It is her goal to design a key chain for the Make A Wish Foundation next year and raise enough money to adopt a child's wish!
Ciara can make a key chain for any organization with a colored ribbon symbol. If you would like one to support your favorite cause, please email her mom at jen614@comcast.net
